Event Details

This session will be a quick review of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-Informed skills concepts from Level 1 and a deeper dive into applying them in practice.

  • How does DBT fit into a trauma-informed classroom?
  • Who benefits from DBT?
  • What might implementation look like?
  • Can I use DBT in my science (or math or English) class?
  • What do youth say about the skills they’ve learned?

Time will be given to using DBT concepts in all areas of education. Examples of mindfulness practices that can be used in the classroom will be included throughout the session.

Note:  This is not a DBT training, but an overview of the practice and an example of how it might be implemented.

The first 50 people to register will be guaranteed a spot and will receive an email from the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health confirming their registration. We do plan to have a waitlist as well and will notify people if they are on the waitlist.
