Andrew Dong will be a junior at West Senior High School in Iowa City this fall. He is passionate about serving his community, and is the founder and president of the Red Cross Club at his school, while having served on the National Youth Council for the Red Cross as a Field Ambassador. After responding to emergency calls with Johnson County Ambulance Servies as an EMT Intern, Andrew was exposed to mental health crisises, which motivated him to join the Advisory Council. With the Iowa Center for School Mental Health, Andrew is driven to help guide the Center in projects and initiatives that will help schools and students across the state, something that would be vital in his home city of Iowa City, where the entire student community is invested in mental health support for students. In his free time, Andrew is a bike mechanic with the Iowa City Bike Library.
