Biography

Mary has an M.A. in School Counseling and is working toward a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Iowa.  She received her B.S. in Vocational Rehabilitation with multiple emphasis in psychiatric rehab, substance abuse, and rehabilitation counseling.

She is dedicated to serving people with disabilities and their families through clinical work and research. One of her goals in working with this population is to help make therapy a safe, accessible, and welcoming place for all. Mary has taught and provided counseling in K-12 schools and enjoys working with all grade levels. For the last four years, Mary has taught preservice teachers how to incorporate technology and Universal Design for Learning into their future classrooms both virtual and in-person as well as create an inclusive and accessible learning environment that can meet the varying needs of students while easing the daily demands of teaching.
