Event Details

During this episode featuring special guest Dr. Susannah Coaston, we’ll discuss how self-improvement can be achieved through self-compassion.

The month of January in the United States is often associated with new beginnings, and these beginnings are typically attached to New Year’s resolutions. Our conversation is meant to reframe how people think about self-improvement by way of constantly striving to be better, as opposed to thinking about resting in kindness and acceptance of who we are now, as a path to improvement; the paradox of being present and accepting what is, in order to see clearly the areas that need some work or practice.

This episode will also cover our spiritual dimension of wellness – finding purpose, values, and meaning in your life with or without organized religion.

Join us live on Wednesday, January 18 from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. on the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health’s YouTube channel or Facebook page.
