THIS PROGRAM HAS REACHED CAPACITY. STAY TUNED FOR ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES IN FALL 2024.

Most people recognize the benefits of being grateful but lack an understanding of how to practice gratitude in ways that optimize benefits for themselves and others. We are excited to offer a free 8-week online gratitude group program for K-12 Iowa educators as part of a larger research project.

Participants will receive $200 for completing the gratitude group program.

The group will meet virtually on Tuesdays from 3 – 4 p.m. starting June 18 – August 6.

The Gratitude Group is an 8-week program that helps educators cultivate gratitude in their lives. The group program has 3 components:

• Psychoeducational—shares information, strategies, and resources on gratitude

• Support—creates opportunities for group members to support each other in the practice of gratitude.

• Experiential—provides group members with in vivo gratitude experiences during group meetings.

These includes experiencing the emotion of gratitude, sharing from one’s gratitude journal, as well as expressing, receiving, witnessing, and responding to interpersonal gratitude during group sessions.

Each group typically comprises about 8 group members and 2 group facilitators. Each group session is about one hour and is conducted over Zoom.
