Event Details

This presentation will walk participants through five, research-tested mindfulness practices to use with secondary students including Check-In, Breath Work, Movement, Guided Mindfulness Practice, and Close of Practice. Through interactive practices, participants will learn about each mindfulness practice, and how they can be combined into a lesson and separated into short brain breaks. Participants will also gain an understanding of how mindfulness supports academic, behavioral, emotional, and physical learning.

Learning Goals:

  • The learner will identify what mindfulness is.
  • The learner will interpret why mindfulness impacts learners.
  • The learner will develop and manipulate 5 mindful practices to help student self-awareness.
  • The learner will develop and manipulate 5 mindful practices to help student self-regulation.
  • The learner will create and demonstrate a mindful activity to use with their students.
