Amanda Elliott, DO
Amanda is a psychiatrist at the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health, offering care to those primarily struggling with ADHD, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders.
Dr. Elliott’s approach to therapy uses skills from Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). As a psychiatrist, she looks for medication interventions that decrease distress from mental health-related symptoms while also highlighting the importance of therapy to help with symptoms.
Amanda is also a psychiatrist for University of Iowa Health Care, a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Carver College of Medicine, and a consult liaison for Stead Family Children’s Hospital. She also provides psychiatry care to youth at the State Training School in Eldora, Iowa.
A fun fact about Amanda is that she was the drum major in her high school band.
