Biography

Derek B. Rodgers, PhD, is the Director of Research, Scanlan Center for School Mental Health. Derek specializes in literacy instruction for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. In particular, Derek’s research focuses on the development and improvement of these learners’ writing skills. He earned his PhD in 2019. Prior to being in academia, Derek worked at the University of Iowa REACH Program.
