Participants practice trauma-informed strategies that promote safety, connection, co-regulation, and accountability. This evidence-supported session is designed to fulfill Iowa’s annual ACEs training requirement for eligible school personnel.

Learning Goals

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain how ACEs and toxic stress can affect brain development, learning, behavior, and relationships.
  2. Recognize when student behavior may reflect stress, trauma, or unmet needs rather than intentional noncompliance.
  3. Apply trauma-informed strategies that promote safety, connection, co-regulation, and accountability while maintaining clear expectations. 

Training Details

  • Modality: Virtual or in person
  • Length: 60 minutes
  • Cost: $625. For in-person sessions requiring trainer travel, the total cost will be adjusted to include travel expenses.
  • Minimum enrollment: 10 participants
