Biography

Taylor Ford, MSW, LISW, is the Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Crisis Response at the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health Clinic. Her specialty areas are eating disorders, athlete wellness, suicide, self-harm, crisis intervention, psychiatric emergency care, substance use, anxiety, depression, and school social work. She also serves as an adjunct instructor for the University of Iowa School of Social Work.  

Taylor primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her approach to therapy. She also utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing. 

Prior to joining the Scanlan Center, Taylor worked as an Inpatient Psychiatry & Emergency Department Social Worker for University of Iowa Health Care; Assistant Clinical Director for University of Iowa Health Care Crisis Stabilization Unit; Program Director for a Georgia child/adolescent residential eating disorder program, and Assistant Director of Counseling Services for Georgia State University.

Taylor is extremely passionate about decreasing barriers to access to mental health care for individuals, families, groups, and complex systems.
