Biography

Liz Gleason  is a social worker at the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health Clinic, providing individual and group counseling. She has a specialized interest in the treatment of children and adults needing support with suicidality, self-harm, emotional intensity, grief and loss, crisis intervention, and psychiatric emergency care.  

Her approach to therapy blends Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. 

Before working at the Scanlan Center, Liz worked at University of Iowa Health Care as a social worker in the Crisis Stabilization Unit and at Cross Park Place as a case manager. 

A music enthusiast, Liz enjoys all genres—ask about any type of music, and she'll share a favorite song!
