Supporting Anxious Students

The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that 1 in 4 adolescents and 1 in 12 children experience anxiety, making anxiety disorders one of the most prevalent mental health diagnoses among K-12 students. In this webinar, participants will be provided an overview of anxiety disorders and common symptoms, as well as strategies for supporting anxious students at home and school. This webinar will also offer an introduction to Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), an empirically-validated treatment for anxiety and OCD.

Learning Goals

  1. Identify common behaviors associated with anxiety in youth.

  2. Learn classroom strategies for supporting youth with anxiety.

  3. Learn the basic principles behind "Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions" (SPACE).
