In today’s educational landscape, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive academically and emotionally is more urgent than ever. This 45-minute webinar, hosted by the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health, explores how Iowa schools are improving student outcomes by enhancing the Conditions for Learning—a framework that integrates school climate, culture, and systems-level supports.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of:

  • What “Conditions for Learning” means and why it matters.

  • How to assess school climate and culture using student, staff, and caregiver surveys.

  • How to use data to drive continuous improvement through a five-step process: Assess, Prioritize, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate.

  • Evidence-based strategies that support safer, more engaging, and more productive learning environments.

Whether you're a school leader, educator, mental health professional, or aspire to these careers, this session will equip you with tools and insights to champion student well-being and achievement through intentional, data-informed practices.
