During this presentation, participants will gain an understanding of the function of self-harm behaviors and why individuals engage in self-harm behaviors. Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of how skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy can be beneficial when working with individuals who engage in non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI).

Learning Goals 

  1. Learn functions of self-harm behavior.
  2. Increase knowledge of distress tolerance skills.
  3. Gain advanced knowledge of mindfulness skills.
  4. Enhance validation skills.

Training Details

  • Modality: In-person or virtual
  • Length: 60 or 75 minutes 
  • Cost: $500 for 60-minute session or $625 for 75-minute session (+ cost of presenters' travel if in-person)
  • Training Capacity: A minimum of 10 participants is required to host this training.
